Makei pays respects to late Fidel Castro at Cuban Embassy
MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) – Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei visited the Cuban Embassy in Minsk to sign a book of condolences for late Fidel Castro on 30 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Vladimir Makei had a brief conversation with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to Belarus Gerardo Suarez Alvarez. The Minister offered the words of sympathy to the family and relatives of Fidel Castro and also to the Cuban people who have suffered an irreparable loss in the death of Fidel Castro, a prominent political figure of the 20th century and the national hero of the Liberty Island.
During the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their willingness to continue the strategic partnership between the two countries started by Fidel Castro based on the principles of mutual respect and confidential interstate dialogue.
