MINSK, 16 June (BelTA) – Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with Ukraine and the OSCE’s representatives in the contact group Leonid Kuchma and Heidi Tagliavini, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Today Vladimir Makei also met with Russia’s representative in the contact group Azamat Kulmukhametov.

During the meetings, the Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed the activities of the contact group and the working groups on the Ukraine settlement, and the organization of the events of different levels at the Minsk platform.

Vladimir Makei confirmed the readiness of the Belarusian side to create all the necessary conditions for effective work of the tripartite contact group and the working groups.

Minsk played host to the meetings of three working groups on Ukraine: political affairs, humanitarian affairs and security on 16 June. The meetings in the President Hotel were closed for the press. It is expected that the meetings of the working groups will be followed by a meeting of the trilateral contact group on Ukraine with the participation of representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
