MINSK, 27 October (BelTA) – Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with a delegation of the Central European Initiative led by the Secretary General Giovanni Caracciolo di Vietri to discuss the ways of intensifying sectoral interaction, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

“During the meeting the parties exchanged views on the status and development prospects of cooperation within the CEI, including the revitalization of sectoral cooperation and strengthening the ties between the CEI and other international organizations, financial institutions and regional integration processes,” the ministry unformed.

The meeting also discussed the interaction with the CEI Secretariat in the context of preparations for Belarus’ Presidency in the CEI in 2017.

The ministry added that consideration of these issues will be continued in a meeting between the CEI Secretariat delegation and Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna on 28 October.
