MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei, former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma and advisor to the Ukraine President Ruslan Demchenko exchanged the views on the ways towards the speedy settlement of the Ukrainian conflict on the basis of the Minsk agreement on 26 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsitry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
The parties discussed the current situation in the conflict zone, its impact on the regional and global international environment. "The parties had a substantive exchange of views on the negotiating process and the ways of promoting the speedy settlement of the conflict on the basis of the Minsk accords,” the press service of the Minsitry of Foreign Affairs said.
Leonid Kuchma and Ruslan Demchenko arrived in Belarus to take part in the negotiations of the tripartite contact group to resolve the situation in the east of Ukraine.
