MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – A variety of issues across a wide range of topics can be discussed during the upcoming meeting between the presidents of Belarus and Russia, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said at a press conference in Minsk on 16 February, BelTA has learned.

The minister is confident that security, trade and economic cooperation, and sanctions will be among the topics on the agenda.

"We are planning such a meeting of our leaders. As usual, any issues can be discussed on it. We [Ministry of Foreign Affairs] have prepared our proposals regarding the topics that will be raised during the meeting by President Lukashenko. Once again, any topics and important issues are discussed during such meetings. Of course, these may be the security situation, trade and economic cooperation, and the sanctions confrontation with Western countries. I am convinced that these issues will definitely be touched upon," the minister said.
