Makei: Belarus and Bulgaria know how to further develop relations

MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Bulgaria have a clear understanding of how to further develop the relations, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said at the meeting with his Bulgarian counterpart Daniel Mitov on 11 April, BelTA has learned.

Vladimir Makei noted that he and Daniel Mitov discussed a wide range of issues and the parties demonstrated a clear understanding of how to move further in the development of relations, what steps should be done.

The Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs named Daniel Mitov’s visit to Belarus as timely. The visit is taking place following the cancelation of the EU anti-Belarusian sanctions, which creates a good basis for further cooperation.

The parties were unanimous that the visit of the Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe to Belarus should help strengthen mutually beneficial bilateral relations, the development of the dialogue between Belarus and the European Union.

After the talks Daniel Mitov hailed the positive changes in the relations between the European Union and Belarus. Bulgaria, in his words, will do it best to keep the trend in the future.
