MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) – In an interview with the RT news channel, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko warned the US of possible repercussions of the war with Cuba, BelTA reports.
“If you also meddle in Cuba and start fighting the Cubans... History suggests you’ll get a bloody nose. There will be countries that quietly and calmly throw their support behind Cuba. And it’s hard to say how things will play out,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The head of state pointed out that Cuba, unlike Iran, is located in close proximity to America. “Cuba is right in [America’s] backyard, not far from Donald Trump’s own home. Do you really need that? Of course not,” he said.
The president is of the view that the United States should build normal relations with the countries located in the Western Hemisphere. “In Cuba and Mexico, and I know this well, and in Nicaragua and Venezuela, the majority of people understand what the United States of America is about. And it’s necessary to build normal relations with Americans. Well, then go ahead and build those relations,” he remarked.
