Lukashenko urges to set up trade unions at all private enterprises by year-end

Lukashenko urges to set up trade unions at all private enterprises by year-end

MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) – It is necessary to set up trade unions at all private enterprises by the end of 2020, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with Chairman of the Federations of Trade Unions of Belarus (FTUB) Mikhail Orda on 10 November, BelTA informs.

“We have agreed that trade unions will be established at all private enterprises by the end of 2020. This issue should be handled by the end of the year,” the head of state said.

“Unless private organizations set up trade unions following your request by the end of the year, they will be closed down. You should put forward these proposals. There will be no jokes anymore. We saw what some people did and how they tried to destroy the state and statehood in our country. Well, we will sort things out. But trade unions should be established. And you should never give up on this idea,” the Belarusian leader said.

“If you want to join a trade union, you are welcome. If you don't – it's up to you to decide. But every public and private organization should have a trade union. We have agreed on that, it was your decision. I spoke about it at the conference of trade unions. Therefore, we must do it. Everybody should understand the position of the state,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.
