Lukashenko urges to prevent unjustified growth of prices for medications

MINSK, 15 February (BelTA) – The unjustified growth of prices for medications is inadmissible, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he received the report of Healthcare Minister Vasily Zharko on 15 February, BelTA has learned.

The President stressed that in any case people will not economize on mediations. Alexander Lukashenko expressed concern that in this context manufacturers and especially traders may try to raise prices.

“It is inadmissible. Of course, I do not want pharmacies and other manufacturers to be in the red,” the President said. “No one will operate at a loss, but no one, especially trade outlets, is allowed to capitalize on it,” he stressed.

Alexander Lukashenko added that the situation with prices at pharmacies is under control. He urged not to leave it without attention in the future.

Besides, at the end of the meeting the President gave an instruction to resume the construction of the Gomel oblast children’s hospital. It has to be built in two years.
