RECHITSA, 11 April (BelTA) – Gomel Oblast should improve farming standards this year, President Alexander Lukashenko said as he visited the state-owned farm Istok in Rechitsa District, Gomel Oblast, on 11 April, BelTA has learned.
The head of state remarked that certain agricultural facilities, including farms, have been upgraded. “Farming standards are high, and the situation should be the same everywhere,” Alexander Lukashenko demanded. He emphasized the importance of efficient farming and technological discipline.
The President was informed about the social and economic development, the progress in the spring sowing campaign. He also inspected the progress in the sowing of grain maize at the state-owned farm Istok.
The head of state was informed that 718,000 hectares, or 30% of lands, were under spring crops as of 11 April.
During the visit to the farm the President also reminded about his requirement to raise the average salary in the country to Br1,000.
The head of state also visits OAO Rechitsadrev on 11 April. There he will focus on the modernization progress and development prospects of wood processing enterprises.
