MINSK, 23 December (BelTA) – The elderly should be surrounded with special care and attention, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at a children’s Christmas party held as part of Our Children charity campaign on 23 December.

The head of state stressed that the Our Children project has received great support around the country. Meanwhile, it is also important to provide special care and attention to senior citizens and the elderly, especially during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

“We should remember that there are older persons who need to be surrounded with care and attention. Especially since not everybody has family or someone who can come and share the warmth of their hearts and give attention during these holidays,” the Belarusian leader noted.
