Lukashenko to attend Moscow summits on 24-25 December

MINSK, 23 December (BelTA) – Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will take part in the sessions of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and the Union State Supreme State Council that will take place in Moscow on 24-25 December, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian head of state.

On 24 December the presidents will discuss promotion of integration and enlargement of integration associations. Top on the agenda will be the draft Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union.

The presidents will also discuss the control over natural monopolies and the fulfillment of laws on competition. The presidents are expected to approve the 2014 budget of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The participants of the session of the Union State Supreme State Council will discuss the major fields of Belarus-Russia cooperation.

The agenda of the session features over ten issues, including trade and economic cooperation, the Union State budget for 2014, coordination of foreign policies, provision of equal rights of citizens in the social field, promotion of cultural ties, celebration of the 70th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from the Nazi invaders and the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
