Lukashenko: The entire history of Belarus’ fire service is a history of heroes and feats

MINSK, 22 July (BelTA) - The entire history of Belarus’ fire service is a history of heroes and feats, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said in a video address to Belarus’ fire service as it celebrates the 170th anniversary of founding.

"Today we congratulate Belarus’ fire service on its 170th anniversary. The service chosen by courageous, valiant and very brave people. People like you. There is no nobler mission than saving lives. There is no more dangerous work than fighting against natural calamities or man-made disasters," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The head of state noted that the entire history of the fire service is a history of heroes and feats. "We are proud of everyone who honorably fulfilled their duty, helping people in trouble.
We are proud of everyone who continues the tradition of faithful service to their people and the Fatherland today. In turn, the state is doing everything to ensure that, when on duty, the employees of the service are provided with the most advanced protection gear and equipment so that they fulfill their mission as quickly, efficiently and safely as possible," the president emphasized.

Aleksandr Lukashenko thanked the employees of emergencies agencies and units for their work and for their willingness to be where they are needed, including outside Belarus. "By delivering humanitarian aid to different parts of the world, assisting in extinguishing wildfires, providing disaster relief, you unite countries and peoples, destroy political barriers and create peace," the Belarusian leader said.
