Lukashenko specifies efficiency criteria for government, high-ranking officials

MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) – The criteria of efficiency for the government and high-ranking officials have been specified in Belarus. This is envisaged in Decree No. 78 “Concerning the measures to enhance the effectiveness of the social and economic sector of the Republic of Belarus” which was signed by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 23 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

In particular, the efficiency of work of the prime minister and first deputy prime minister will depend on the efforts to ensure macroeconomic stability and the efficient management of the foreign currency debt of the government; the efficiency of work of deputy prime ministers and the minister of foreign affairs - on the growth and diversification of export.

The efficiency of work of the chairman of the board of the National Bank will depend on the efforts to ensure financial stability in the country, reduction of the foreign currency obligations of the National Bank, increase in the international reserve assets of Belarus.

The efficiency of work of heads of state administration bodies will depend on the efforts to raise foreign direct investments and rational import substitution.

The efficiency of work of heads of oblast executive committees and the Minsk City Hall will depend on the inflow of foreign direct investments to their regions, rational import substitution, growth and diversification of export, the number of new jobs; the efficiency of work of heads of district (town) executive committees – on the number of new jobs; the efficiency of work of heads of enterprises – on the size of the net profit and the efforts to reduce the prime cost of goods (works, services).

To streamline the process of decision-making and accelerate administrative procedures the Council of Ministers has been authorized to determine the terms of harmonization of draft legal acts concerning the most important issues of state regulation in the economic sector by state administration bodies, including those subordinate to the President.
