Lukashenko sends Independence Day greetings to Nicaragua

MINSK, 15 September (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to Nicaragua President Jose Daniel Ortega Saavedra as the country celebrates the 200th anniversary of independence, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Two centuries ago your country took a decisive step towards sovereignty after a long and thorny path of heroic struggle for independent and free development. Today Nicaragua is confidently moving forward, being a promising foreign policy and trade partner for Belarus in Central America,” the head of state said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed confidence that joint efforts would help realize the existing potential of the bilateral relations.
