Lukashenko sends Independence Day greetings to Cambodia

MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) – On behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko congratulated King of Cambodia Norodom Sihamoni on Independence Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Freedom and sovereignty are the most important things for any state. Cambodians threw off the shackles of colonialism 71 years ago and successfully continue to create the necessary conditions for the development of the country, for increasing its role and authority in the world,” the message of congratulations reads.

The head of state noted that Belarus and Cambodia have a long history of relations based on respect and mutual understanding.

“We have an unwavering interest in the dynamic expansion of economic cooperation, as well as in fruitful interaction on international platforms to strengthen peace and resolve pressing issues on the global agenda,” the president emphasized.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Norodom Sihamoni good health and new successes, and the people of Cambodia - unity, happiness and prosperity.
