Lukashenko says Belarus’ position on Ukraine will be needed in future

MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – Alexander Lukashenko is confident that Belarus’ position on Ukraine will be in demand in the near future. The Belarusian head of state made this statement in an exclusive interview to Sergei Brilyov, the host of Vesti v Subbotu (News on Saturday) program on Russia 1 TV Channel, BelTA has learned.

The interview took place after the Normandy Four talks which were held in Minsk on 11-12 February. Alexander Lukashenko made a brief evaluation of the summit in the Belarusian capital.

“I want you to understand that we did not advertise it, but expressed our proposals and our position on the talks. I am confident that our position on Ukraine will be needed in the near future. Perhaps, it somehow affected the format of the talks in Minsk,” Alexander Lukashenko said in an interview.

The President of Belarus is convinced that the war in Ukraine should be stopped.
