MINSK, 1 April (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko told how the experience of the Russian special military operation is being taken into account in the training of military personnel during the final review of a comprehensive inspection of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus on 1 April, BelTA has learned.

“In modern warfare, dear officers, everything matters. The training of officers: their education, the level of proficiency of military personnel with the weapons entrusted to them, physical fitness. Again, this comes from the special military operation, from Wagner Group. They warned me: ‘Aleksandr Grigoryevich [Lukashenko], pay attention to physical fitness.’ They said that they saw this in combat. If a soldier or officer is fit and well-trained, they will live. If they cannot run, take cover, or dodge a bullet – they will not live,” the president said.

“So I asked the military to invite these instructors to train our servicemen. And the first to respond to this was Karpenkov [Deputy Internal Affairs Minister and Commander of the Internal Troops Nikolai Karpenkov]. He brought these people in. They showed them, and the servicemen learned. But everyone grumbled: ‘What are they showing us here? What, we don’t know this already?’ That is why special emphasis was placed on physical fitness during this inspection,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.
