Lukashenko: Rostislav Yankovsky’s demise is an irreparable loss for Belarusian culture

MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has expressed condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of People’s Artist of the USSR Rostislav Yankovsky, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The Belarusian head of state noted that Rostislav Yankovsky is rightfully called one of the greatest actors of modern times. “His highest professionalism, fine-grained understanding of the psychology of characters and vast knowledge of literature, inborn nobility, and unique acting style helped Rostislav Yankovsky enjoy a celebrated career with hundreds of memorable roles in theater and in film, which have already become integral part of the Belarusian cultural heritage,” the message reads.

Alexander Lukashenko also pointed out that the work of Rostislav Yankovsky won public love and recognition. “His demise is an irreparable loss for the Belarusian culture,” the President said.
