Lukashenko receives cow sculpture as gift

BEREZA, 31 July (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko received a life-sized cow sculpture as a gift during his visit to the Savushkin Product production site in Bereza on 31 July. The head of state promised the statue would be displayed at the Palace of Independence, BelTA has learned.

The life-sized cow sculpture, which was given as a gift to the president, is cast in bronze. The president promised that the gift would be placed in the Palace of Independence. The cow sculpture will stand alongside a bison sculpture, which was also crafted in Brest Oblast.

Incidentally, Aleksandr Lukashenko had previously suggested setting up a monument to the cow. One could say that the employees of Savushkin Product fulfilled the president’s wish. “Why do I admire this animal? Because it is a hero. During the Great Patriotic War, even in partisan detachments deep in the woods, there was always a cow around to save lives,” the head of state said.
