Lukashenko, Putin talk over phone

MINSK, 31 December (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has talked to President of Russia Vladimir Putin over the phone, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

The heads of state wished Happy New Year to each other.

Aleksandr Lukashenko spoke highly of the New Year’s address of his Russian counterpart after watching it personally on the Internet.

The presidents discussed the situation of the last few days, including events relating to the drone attack on the residence of the Russian president. Other most pressing matters were also raised during the conversation.

Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin agreed they would meet after New Year’s celebrations and would hold joint events.
