Lukashenko promises to prioritize public healthcare development

Lukashenko promises to prioritize public healthcare development

MINSK, 3 June (BelTA) – The development of public healthcare system needs to be prioritized in the country, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at an opening ceremony of city children's polyclinic No. 9 in Minsk on 3 June, BelTA has learned.

“I am a statesman as you have perhaps already noticed and I will do my best to develop public healthcare in the first place. I have had enough of private healthcare: everyone wants to earn money on people’s health,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

According to the president, the operation of private medical centers in the country is currently under review. “They are under strict control. This is not because I do not like private enterprises, including healthcare ones. No. This is done because everyone needs to work honestly. No one will make money on people's health. We are building a social state, and a concern for people is above all,” the Belarusian leader said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko added that everything possible would be done to ensure that the employees of state-run healthcare services earn good salaries.
