Lukashenko presents Order of Honor to governor of Russia’s Primorsky Krai

MINSK, 16 July (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko awarded the Order of Honor to Governor of Russia’s Primorsky Krai Oleg Kozhemyako. The head of state presented the high award to the head of the Russian region in a solemn ceremony at the Palace of Independence in Minsk on 16 July, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko thanked Oleg Kozhemyako for the meaningful constructive cooperation with Belarus and highlighted his efforts to promote economic cooperation, his considerable contribution to the strengthening of the traditions of friendship and cooperation between Belarus and Russia.

The president said that before being appointed to the post of governor of Primorsky Krai, Oleg Kozhemyako served as the head of Sakhalin Oblast and Amur Oblast of Russia. At all of these posts he showed himself a worthy, effective leader who was able to face political and economic challenges. “This is the man whom the history calls at a time when and where it is necessary for the Fatherland,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

In response, Oleg Kozhemyako said: “I am sincerely grateful for the appreciation of our joint work which has contributed to the development of the Far Eastern regions over 11 years. We have implemented many useful projects.”
