Lukashenko presents honorary titles to four natives of Polesie

LYASKOVICHI, 15 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko honored four individuals with the Honorary Poleshuk title during the Call of Polesie festival in Lyaskovichi on 15 August, BelTA has learned.

The award was presented to Director of the Saturn-1 Zhitkovichi company Mikhail Saskevich, Head of the Tonezh Rural House of Culture branch of the Lelchitsy District Center of Culture and Folk Arts Tamara Pribolovets, Director General of the Savushkin Product company Aleksandr Savchits, and head of the Polesskiye Zori folk song and dance ensemble of the Pinsk City House of Culture Sergei Poddubny. All of them are natives of Polesie, where their professional and creative journeys began, with many continuing to live and work in the region.

The laureates received symbolic statuettes depicting a traditional Polesian resident.

Established in 2014, the Honorary Poleshuk title honors prominent figures deeply connected to the Belarusian Polesie region through life or work. Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko was the first to receive this honor. Since then, 18 individuals from fields like culture, science, industry, sports, and public administration have been awarded the title.
