ZHIROVICHI, 19 September (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko was presented with a painting titled Celebration in Zhirovichi to mark the 555th anniversary of the discovery of the icon of the Mother of God of Zhirovichi and the 505th anniversary of the founding of the Zhirovichi Holy Dormition Stavropegic Monastery, BelTA has learned.
The artwork, gifted to the head of state, was created by Belarusian painter and honored artist Vladimir Barabantsev. The painting depicts Palm Sunday festivities set against the background of the Holy Assumption Cathedral at the Zhirovichi monastery.
