Lukashenko: Police should do their best to create positive image in the society

MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) – Police should their best to create a positive image in the society, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at the session of the board of the Interior Ministry to discuss the performance of law enforcement bodies in 2015, BelTA has learned.

“You should do your best to create a positive image. However, it is not needed to coax anyone,” the head of state said.

“You should act depending on the situation. We cannot include everything in a bill, therefore, you must do your best to protect those who need protection,” the head of state noted.

You are the core of the society. If we have ideal police, we will have ideal order, Alexander Lukashenko believes.

The President said that policemen are always in the public eye, there are no trifles in their work. “You are the actual representatives of law for our people, you embody justice and security,” the head of state said.

He stressed that, first of all, a person in distress wants attention from police. “You should consider all claims and police statements objectively, timely and from all angles, solve crimes and other vitally important issues, even those beyond the scope of the Interior Ministry because you are an authority for people and should keep an eye on all issues,” the President remarked.
