Lukashenko: No political issues between Belarus and Turkmenistan

MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) – There are no political issues between Belarus and Turkmenistan, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko told the media after the talks with Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on 11 May, BelTA has learned.

“In terms of politics, we have no issues with our Turkmenistani friends at all. We have similar foreign policy approaches and share a similar vision of the international and regional situation,” the Belarusian leader pointed out.

Alexander Lukashenko is confident that Belarus and Turkmenistan will continue to support each other in the international arena.

The Belarusian head of state believes that humanitarian ties complement the trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. The number of Turkmenistani nationals willing to study in Belarus has been increasing recently. Belarus is ready to continue providing assistance in the training of specialists for Turkmenistan. Alexander Lukashenko noted that the vibrant cultural contacts between Belarusian and Turkmenistani people help strengthen the cooperation between the two countries.
