MINSK, 6 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko stressed he has no intention of giving away the wealth accumulated by the Belarusian nation over centuries. Alexander Lukashenko made the statement in his speech on the occasion of his inauguration as the Belarus president on 6 November, BelTA has learned.
“I am not going to divide what the Belarusian nation has been accumulating for centuries. Such attempts always end up in a tragedy in Slavonic countries. It may end up in a revolution, a civil war or both like it often happened in the past,” said the Belarus President.
Apart from that, the head of state noted that the Belarusian side had earlier suggested selling shares of Belaruskali Company, which was valued at $32 billion. The President added that specialists believe the price to be justified. “Has anyone bought a single share for that kind of price? No,” pointed out Alexander Lukashenko. He also conveyed a message he strongly disagrees with privatization practices that reduce the value of enterprises.
