MINSK, 17 February (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to Serbia President Aleksandar Vucic as the country celebrates Statehood Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Your country is a model of firmness, purposefulness, great Slavonic soul and preservation of national traditions. Our regular meetings, including my recent official visit to Serbia, are always held in an atmosphere of openness, friendship and respect,” the message reads.

The head of state expressed confidence that the implementation of the agreements reached in Belgrade in December 2019 would allow the states to reach a qualitatively new level of cooperation in trade, investment and humanitarian sectors. “For my part, I assure you of my readiness to contribute to the development of the areas we have outlined,” the Belarusian leader said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Aleksandar Vucic strong health and success in his political activity, and also peace and well-being to the friendly people of Serbia.
