MINSK, 21 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has expressed condolences to India President Pranab Mikherjee, families and friends of the victims of the train crash in Uttar Pradesh, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The head of state emphasized that it is with deep pain and sorrow that people in Belarus have learned the news about the accident.
BelTA reported earlier that the accident took place in the early hours of 20 November. Fourteen carriages came off the tracks in a rural district of the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. There were about 2,000 people on board the train.
The death toll from India’s rail disaster exceeded 140 people.
