Lukashenko details arrest of man who injured three law enforcers

MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) - While answering questions following his Address to the Belarusian People and Parliament on 18 December, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko reported on the detention of a man who injured three law enforcement officers, BelTA has learned.

“We did not publicize the detention of this scoundrel, this White-Red-White activist, which happened three days ago. He has been neutralized. But he wounded three of our officers. They are all alive. One is seriously wounded, two are in lighter condition. They were defending us. This is our youth,” the head of state said.

The president noted as a positive fact that attitudes towards law enforcement in Belarusian society have improved significantly. “I am already glad that people have stopped criticizing and berating you as they once did,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “They are just like all of us. They are our children. If you throw a stone at our police, remember that it is a reflection of our society. There are all kinds of people there. There are patriots, there are heroes.”
