Lukashenko describes Trump as sensible person, seeking peace

MINSK, 22 August (BelTA) – Media portrayal of U.S. President Donald Trump is incorrect, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he answered journalists’ questions in Minsk on 22 August, BelTA has learned.

“Trump is not the man we see [in the media],” Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked. Some fragments of his speeches appear in the public domain and the translation nuances leave their mark, creating the impression that he is impulsive and inconsistent. “No. He is a sensible person. I believe it would be beneficial if he had more such reliable people [on his team]. Moreover, he is oriented toward peace,” the head of state said.
