Lukashenko congratulates Vietnam's Communist Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong on re-election

MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated Vietnam President Nguyen Phu Trong on the re-election as Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“This victory testifies to the broad support of the Vietnamese people for your activities and also vividly reflects the faithfulness of the path chosen by the Party,” the message of greetings reads.

The president noted that Belarus considers Vietnam to be its close and trustworthy friend.

“I recall with warmth our talks in Minsk and Hanoi. I am sure that the pandemic will soon be over and we will have an opportunity to meet in person again,” stressed Aleksandr Lukashenko.
