Lukashenko congratulates Putin on Unity Day of Peoples of Belarus, Russia

MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) – Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Belarus-Russia Union State, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Russia’s President Vladimir Putin on the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“The Union State Treaty unites the closest partners and good neighbors on the post-Soviet space. This is the reason for vitality and huge potential of Belarus-Russia integration,” the message of congratulations reads.

The Belarusian president emphasized that the international situation and imperatives of our time set a strategic task to keep strengthening the Union State taking into consideration national priorities and the principle of equality. “I am deeply convinced that trust and mutual understanding will remain the defining features of the Union State construction and will help take the bilateral relations to a brand new level in line with the interests of our peoples,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
