Lukashenko congratulates Ignazio Cassis on election as Swiss Federal President

MINSK, 9 December (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to Ignazio Cassis who was elected Federal President of the Swiss Confederation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Belarus shares your commitment to maintaining constructive and equal relations on the basis of mutual respect,” the message of greetings reads. “I am convinced that the fast restoration of productive contacts between Belarus and Switzerland in such fields as the economy, finance and investment, humanitarian contacts, sport and tourism meets the strategic interests of our countries and will help promote mutual trust in our societies and strengthen security in the European region.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Ignazio Cassis good health and productive continuation of his political career as the head of state.
