Lukashenko congratulates David Malpass on his appointment as World Bank Group President

MINSK, 8 April (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated David Malpass on his appointment as President of the World Bank Group, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Contacts with this influential international organization are very important for the Republic of Belarus, as this organization plays a major role in maintaining financial stability and sustainable economic growth. Belarus highly values joint work with the Bank in upgrading the domestic economy, promoting SMEs, and embracing cutting-edge technology in healthcare, education and public finance management,” the message reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished David Malpass successes in strengthening the positions of the World Bank as one of the most reputable and efficient international development promotion organizations. He noted that he counts on support of mutually beneficial joint projects.
