MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – It is important we ease, as much as possible, all requirements and procedures for the demolition of abandoned buildings, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he addressed the Belarusian people and Parliament in Minsk on 18 December, BelTA has learned.
The president recalled that throughout this year, Belarus has been actively engaged in the landscaping of public spaces. Many significant sites have been spruced up, and two nationwide clean-up days have been held.
“Now it is time to turn our attention to abandoned buildings,” the head of state stated. “The government, local executive committees together with the military must streamline all requirements and procedures to the greatest extent possible, reduce both the timelines and the costs of demolition, and bring the land into active use.”
