Lukashenko: Belarus may amend Constitution or adopt a new one soon

MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) – Belarus may amend the Constitution or adopt a new one in the near future, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with heads of constitutional courts of foreign countries on 31 May, BelTA informs.

The head of state remarked that Belarus is thinking about a new stage in connection with the changing life. “Processes have accelerated significantly. Our Constitution is lagging behind a little bit. I asked specialists of the Constitutional Court to submit their proposals regarding the possible improvement of our Constitution. Then we will sit down and discuss them,” the president said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that people working in the Constitutional Court of Belarus are famous for their professionalism. “The process of selecting candidates is very long. These are experienced people who know what people want from us today,” he stressed.
