Lukashenko approves draft treaty with Myanmar on mutual legal assistance

MINSK, 13 August (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has approved as a basis for negotiations a draft treaty between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on mutual legal assistance in civil and economic matters. Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 273 on 13 August, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

The draft international treaty sets out the terms and procedure for providing mutual legal assistance, including the transfer and service of documents, recognition and enforcement of court decisions, obtaining evidence, and taking other procedural actions.

The treaty will help develop and strengthen interstate cooperation in the legal field and protect the rights and interests of individuals and legal entities.

The Ministry of Justice has been authorized to conduct negotiations on the draft international treaty and sign it.
