Lukashenko advocates for SCO digital unity

BISHKEK, 1 September (BelTA) - Belarus is advocating for the earliest possible creation of a unified, open, and secure digital space within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the SCO Heads of State Council summit in Bishkek on 1 September, BelTA has learned.

“The rapid development of information technologies has added a new digital dimension to the conventional system of coordinates. Belarus advocates for the earliest possible establishment of a single, open, and secure SCO digital space,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The Belarusian leader proposed launching a large-scale program for exchanging expertise in information security, digital development, and the use of artificial intelligence through joint consultations, research, and technology integration.

“A hub for these exchanges could be the China-SCO Artificial Intelligence Application Cooperation Center, currently being established in Belarus,” he emphasized.
