MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) – Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov has arrived in Belarus to take part in a Normandy Four ministerial meeting (Russia, Ukraine, Germany, France), BelTA has learned.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said earlier that they view the forthcoming meeting as the next joint step to reach peaceful settlement and add additional impetus to this work. “The meeting is designed to support security, humanitarian and economic efforts and also advance a package of political reforms,” the ministry said.
The Normandy Four ministerial meeting will take place in the President Hotel in the afternoon. The proposal to hold the meeting in the Belarusian capital was announced last week. Mass media later confirmed the intention for the Normandy Four ministerial meeting in Minsk on 29 November.
