Kursk Oblast delegation to visit Belarus 9-10 March

MINSK, 6 March (BelTA) – A delegation of Kursk Oblast of the Russian Federation headed by Governor Alexander Mikhailov will visit Belarus on 9-10 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

The Kursk Oblast delegation is set to hold talks in the Belarusian Government to discuss topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including industrial cooperation, agriculture, construction, supplies of Belarusian equipment and food, innovative interaction.

The eighth meeting of the joint working group on cooperation of Belarus and Kursk Oblast will be held in Minsk as part of the visit.

A number of bilateral documents are expected to be signed.

In addition, the Kursk Oblast delegation will visit the Belarusian enterprises including Minsk Stadler, the agricultural complex Shdanovichi, and Minsk Auto Works.

During the visit to the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War the Russian guests will meet with Belarusian war veterans, participants of the battle of Kursk.

Members of the official and business delegations of Kursk Oblast are set to meet with representatives of government bodies and business community of Belarus to discuss the cooperation areas of mutual interest.

In 2014 trade between Belarus and Kursk Oblast increased by 10.3% as against the previous year and amounted to $243.2 million (29th place among the regions of Russia). Exports rose by 18.4% to reach $187.3 million (16th), imports shrank by 10.3% to $55.9 million (36th). Belarus had a $131.4 million surplus in trade with Russia’s Kursk Oblast last year.
