Kremlin: Lukashenko, Putin, Rahmon hold informal meeting, joint phone call with Aliyev

MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) – The Kremlin has informed about an informal meeting of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon, and their joint phone call with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, BelTA has learned.

“Russian President Vladimir Putin, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon held a joint informal meeting and made a phone call with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev. During a friendly conversation the leaders discussed a number of topical issues related to further development of interstate relations,” the Kremlin said.

The heads of state agreed to meet in Moscow on 9 May to attend the events celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

As BelTA reported, Aleksandr Lukashenko is on an official visit to the Russian Federation. The presidents of Belarus and Russia have held official talks and spent a lot of time communicating in an informal setting.

Earlier, the Kremlin announced talks between Vladimir Putin and the Tajikistan president on 17 March as part of Emomali Rahmon's official visit to Russia.
