Kobyakov: Belarus, Novosibirsk Oblast of Russia will develop cooperation in all areas

MINSK, 24 November (BelTA) - Belarus and Novosibirsk Oblast of Russia will develop all-round cooperation, Belarus’ Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said as he met with Governor of Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast Vladimir Gorodetsky, BelTA has learned.

Belarus’ Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov met with Governor of Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast Vladimir Gorodetsky"For us Novosibirsk Oblast is one of the key partners with whom we will continue to develop relations in all areas which can be between two sister nations. However, trade is the key area for us. It was dynamically growing over the previous few years," said Andrei Kobyakov. However, according to him, downward trends have been registered both in the Belarusian export and import from Novosibirsk Oblast. "Now we have to work to reverse this trend," said the Belarusian head of government.

Belarus’ Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov met with Governor of Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast Vladimir GorodetskyAndrei Kobyakov stated that recently Belarus has made big progress in the development of bus and trolleybus industries. "We have started to manufacture school buses which have proven well," he said.

The Prime Minister noted that Novosibirsk Oblast is Russia's largest agricultural producer, and therefore proposed it to upgrade its fleet of farm machines with the Belarusian-made equipment. "We can explore different options. It can be both leasing and budget subsidies. We have actively partnered up with a number of Russian banks who offer reduced interest rates on loans for our equipment,” said Andrei Kobyakov.

Governor of Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast Vladimir GorodetskyAmong other promising cooperation avenues Andrei Kobyakov named the production of potatoes, flax, and cereal crops. The Prime Minister also believes that Novosibirsk Oblast may be interested in cooperation with the Belarusian company Belstankoinstrument. “We can supply new machine tools and take part in the modernization of your enterprises,” Andrei Kobyakov noted.

He added that Belarus is ready to develop cooperation in construction, from design of projects to their implementation.
