Karyagin: Great prospects for Belarus-Russia interregional cooperation

MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) - Belarus and Russia have great prospects for the development of the interregional cooperation, chairman of the presidium of the national confederation of entrepreneurship Vladimir Karyagin said during an Internet video briefing hosted by the Union State information and analysis portal, BelTA has learnt.

"All regions of Russia have their own technical and economic specifics. So do Belarusian regions. Therefore, for the development of interregional cooperation, it is necessary to know the advantages and disadvantages of the regions,” said Vladimir Karyagin.

As an example, he cited the cooperation with Kaliningrad Oblast, which has been gaining momentum. "Recently we have had several meetings with businessmen and the administration. The region has access to the seas, and seaport infrastructure. All this fit our plans. We have already started the development of logistics centers on the territory of Russia,” said Vladimir Karyagin.

When asked what Russian projects are most interesting for the Belarusian business community, he noted that one of the most promising is power engineering, including alternative energy. I was amazed to learn about the project in solar power engineering. It allows creating the equipment with the efficiency of 55%, while the efficiency of solar batteries is just 15%. If everything works out, then we will start producing the solar batteries with the efficiency of 55% in Belarus. This is a revolution in the energy sector,” said Vladimir Karyagin.

According to him, Belarus needs to replace the hydrocarbon component in its economy and proceed to the new technological cycles.
