Iran interested in tighter cooperation with Belarus in organized crime prevention

MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) – Iran is interested in advancing cooperation with Belarus in fighting organized crime, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs after Prosecutor General of Belarus Alexander Konyuk visited Tehran.

Alexander Konyuk met with head of Iran’s judicial power Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli-Larijani, Justice Minister Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi, and a number of other officials. Apart from that, the Prosecutor General of Belarus also met with the rector and professors of the University of Judicial Sciences and Administrative Services. The Belarusian delegation also visited a museum dedicated to fight against narcotic substances.

During the meetings the Iranian side expressed interest in advancing cooperation with Belarus across the entire range of matters concerning the law as well as cooperation in fighting organized crime, illegal turnover of drugs. Cooperation in other areas of mutual interest was mentioned as well.

The sides discussed the development of interaction in matters of international law, the improvement of the legal base of bilateral cooperation.
