MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – An official staff visit of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to Belarus is scheduled for 21-30 June, BelTA learned from the IMF Resident Representative Office in Belarus.

“An IMF mission led by Peter Dolman will visit Belarus from 21 to 30 June to assess the current economic policy and hold annual consultations with authorities under Article IV. The program of the visit includes meetings with government officials, representatives of the central bank, the private sector, the academic community, and professional organizations. The mission will issue a press release on the results of the visit,” representatives of the IMF Office said.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is an international organization headquartered in Washington, DC. It was founded on 27 December 1945. Belarus has been an IMF member since 1992. IMF’s activities in Belarus are aimed at cooperation with the government and the National Bank in preparing economic policy programs with a focus on taxation, budgeting, monetary management, exchange rate, and trade policy in order to achieve considerable economic growth, low inflation and a stable balance of payments.
