IMF experts to work in Belarus on 5-12 June

MINSK, 19 May (BelTA) – A mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will work in Belarus on 5-12 June, BelTA learned from the IMF Resident Representative Office in Belarus. The mission will be led by the IMF mission chief for Belarus Peter Dohlman.

The IMF experts are expected to meet with representatives of Belarusian government agencies to discuss the state of affairs in the national economy. The IMF experts will also lay groundwork in anticipation of the annual IMF mission, which is expected to visit the country in October for Article IV consultations.

BelTA reported earlier that Belarus is intent on starting a new program on cooperation with the International Monetary Fund in 2017. Earlier reports stated that the country intends to borrow $3.5 billion from the IMF.
