Healthcare ministries of Belarus, Vietnam sign memorandum of understanding

MINSK, 9 October (BelTA) - A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Healthcare Ministries of Belarus and Vietnam, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry.

The documents were signed by the deputy healthcare ministers of Belarus and Vietnam. The event was held online.

According to Belarusian Deputy Healthcare Minister Aleksandr Starovoitov, the signing of the memorandum between the ministries will become the next starting point for the development of relations. “We are grateful for the readiness and openness to bilateral dialogue, as well as for the contribution to joint activities. I am confident that this meeting will be fruitful and will become the next step towards the expansion of our partnership,” he said.

The deputy minister added that Belarusian medicines have been supplied to Vietnam for more than a decade to ensure drug safety and the demand for Belarusian pharmaceutical products in Vietnam increases every year. “This proves the keen interest of the Vietnamese market in Belarusian-made pharmaceuticals,” he said. Aleksandr Starovoitov also expressed gratitude to his Vietnamese colleagues for the work done to study and recognize the system of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), operational in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, including Belarus.

According to the Healthcare Ministry of Belarus, the signed document envisages support and promotion of cooperation in healthcare and pharmaceuticals through the exchange and sharing of professional knowledge.
