French parliament delegation to visit Belarus on 15-19 April

MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) – A delegation of the French parliament will be in Minsk on a working trip on 15-19 April. The delegation will be led by Charles Guene, Deputy Chairman of the Finance Commission of the French Senate, chairman of the France-Belarus friendship group, the press service of the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament told BelTA.

The French MPs will meet with Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich and other Belarusian senators. Members of the delegation are expected to meet with top officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Constitutional Court, and the Hi-Tech Park. The delegation will also visit the automobile engineering company BelAZ and meets with municipal authorities of Minsk Oblast and Grodno Oblast.

The visit has been arranged upon Belarus’ invitation. It will help implement the agreements reached when Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich met with President of the Senate of France Gerard Larcher in November 2018.

A working group on cooperation with France was created in the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus in 2018 for the first time in the history of Belarus-France relations. A reciprocal group was established in the Senate of France. The groups are supposed to broaden cooperation between sister cities in Belarus and France, help establish direct contacts between business circles, advance bilateral relations in the spheres of investment, agriculture, ecology, and other ones.
